Just outside Waidring, more precisely in Strub, is the Waidring Archery Paradise. Adjacent to a guesthouse, it has a shooting range for all distances.
About 100 well-marked meters further on, the "blue" course begins, right next to the Bogenhütte. The second, "red" course, is a little further along the path.
On the advice of local shooters, we're starting the "blue" one. It's supposedly "better"—whatever that means.
It's a magnificent landscape. Probably some of the most beautiful terrain we visited on our tour. Really great shots and cool distances.
But…
...it was a bit disappointing. The inn is closed, and so is the archery hut, by the way. As are the existing toilets. Unfortunately, many shots were impossible to shoot from the blue stakes—you simply couldn't see the targets. The area is large... very large, and so the paths between the targets are sometimes quite long. Hiking days aren't really our thing. I should also note that this is our personal impression, and many people might like it.
Thanks, by the way, to the shooter who took my empty coffee cup from the hut. I wanted to take it back to the car after the round—unfortunately, there was no trash can there.
