We were welcomed by several fellow archers from PSV Burgenland (limited RV parking is available) and, of course, by members of the club. We then enjoyed a long chat. That's what makes a visit to the course so enjoyable. You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.
A nice shooting range with a few tables and benches, the registration desk and a toilet (important if you are on tour and have had a long journey ).
Despite its flatness (it actually lies in the balancing channel of three streams), the course is very finely set and it is suitable for mountainous areas, which are generally rare in Burgenland.
The path leads through small woods, interspersed with streams, and across expansive meadows. They've put a lot of effort into the design. Upon entering the "Africa section," the appropriate sound collage automatically plays from a small speaker. Solar-powered birds of prey and hares spin in circles via footswitches, and the first glimpse of the group of deer makes you jump. Are they real?
The 2:1 course, as we call it, is easy to navigate. 2 thirds of shooting – 1 third of marching.
We’ll definitely see each other again – we’re excited to see what the McGyvers of archery come up with the next time they “change things around”.
