Since there are always discussions about behavior on archery ranges, we've decided to post general rules here. I'd like to thank many course operators for proofreading, and especially Thomas Müller at Bogensport Pottenbrunn . He provided us with his rules, which we've only revised slightly. Thanks to everyone for their help!
Every archer MUST read and follow the course rules. By entering the course, EVERYONE accepts the rules.
Each archer MUST register in the course book and/or on the registration sheets or via the 3D Skillboard BEFORE using the course.
This also applies to payment – this MUST be made before use.
Before starting shooting, the shooter must ensure that his/her equipment is in perfect condition.
Shooting with faulty bows or arrows, as well as with found arrows(!!!), is prohibited.
Please take any arrows or arrow parts you find with you to the start of the course and place them in the containers provided.
The shooter must ensure the shooting area is clear and safe before firing. Shooting may only occur at the marked targets.
Shooting is permitted only from the starting pegs. Those shooters who choose the rear peg as their starting peg shoot first, then those shooters from the next peg, and so on.
Waiting persons must ALWAYS stay behind (i.e. not in front!) the shooter.
A maximum of 3 arrows may be shot at a time. 1st arrow hits – stop shooting. 2nd arrow hits – stop shooting. 3rd arrow does not hit – stop shooting. Double hunter/training rounds MUST be explicitly offered and regulated by the operator.
The course paths are marked with color and/or directional arrows and ribbons.
It is only safe to walk on the terrain following the markings! Never walk against the course direction!!!
The bow may only be drawn toward the target, and shots may only be fired in a direct line at the target. Overhead, cross, or vertical shots are strictly prohibited.
If there are people or animals in the danger zone (e.g. arrow seekers, walkers, mushroom pickers, animals), the shooter must stop shooting immediately.
While searching for arrows in the field, the target must be marked with an object (bow, piece of clothing, etc.) to warn subsequent archers.
When drawing arrows, always secure the target securely. Apply counterpressure so the target cannot be knocked over.
Any changes to the course are prohibited, e.g. cutting down branches and bushes or moving stakes
Wait long enough until the shooter in front of you has left the firing range and a clear, safe shot is possible.
“Trial shooters” will be trained on the borrowed equipment and MUST wear protective equipment (arm guards and finger guards).
“Young shooters” under 18 years of age are only permitted to attend with a parent or guardian or an adult – supervision of minors is mandatory!
Since the course is located in a wooded area and/or fields, any littering and unnecessary noise are prohibited. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
Using or entering the course while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted.
Smoking is not permitted on the course grounds, and open flames are prohibited.
Please always take rubbish home with you – if you find rubbish belonging to others – PLEASE do the same.
Failure to comply with the rules or instructions may result in the shooter being expelled from the course.
Use of the archery course is at your own risk.
The operator assumes no liability for injuries on the course premises or damage to its own equipment.
Parents are responsible for their children.
