Square, practical, good! Some course operators are blessed with such a beautiful forest, they could place trash cans as targets and no one would care.
That one is one of those, but there are still animals, exactly 42 of them, at 42 stations. So there's no animal group stuff, and no one misses it anyway, because forests, so..., you already know.
Thankfully, there were no shooting entertainment; there was just a high stand, and that's necessary. Wobbly boards, wooden horses, and other such nonsense aren't needed there, because forests, so... you already know.
Ah yes, then there's the athletic aspect. Well, I think they follow a principle there: rather long, rather dark, rather tricky, ideally all of the above. On a different course, that might have gotten to me at some point, but here, well, because it's forest, so... you already know.
All in all a sh... ...l course.
Suggestions
Maybe throw in a little easy-going shot every now and then, because at some point your head just goes blank and you long for something lighter. Signage is fine if you're not a slacker, but the occasional construction sign, especially at forks in the road, would ease the situation a bit.
And the most... ahem... amazing thing I found were the backstops. Not particularly large, but usually big enough, but so well camouflaged that sometimes you had to look twice to see if one was there or not.
