We're used to mountain roads here in Vorarlberg by now – think again! The huge bridge construction site is certainly partly to blame, but this route is REALLY challenging.
Up to over 1,000 meters – sometimes through tunnels and/or single-track with passing bays. Intense!
Just as intense as the approach to the course! Although... later we have to cover the same route again... uphill.
A small firing range and... off we go. The course is called "Forest Gorge," and... the name says it all.
The route is a challenge. Up and down, along the idyllic stream. Hardly a muscle is spared. Perhaps it's not necessary to do two "alpine" climbs in one day.
The distances are quite decent, as is typical here in the West. Hardly any of the courses here are WA.
You have to like this kind of terrain, then the course is very nice.
