Below the Hüttersberg in Doren is the 3D archery course of the same name.
We've had some bad luck in recent weeks... the course is below and next to a so-called "sliding hill." Meaning, the slope keeps giving way.
So instead of the usual 30 targets, only 22 awaited us today. The terrain is perfect, and even the first shot was more than a challenge – FINE.
We knew that western Austria wasn't going to be a trail for flatlanders. But after driving almost all night (with just a little sleep in the car), we were also kind of expected to be hit with the full blast of elevation gain. ;)
The website describes the trails as "natural"... A wild, romantic stroll through the forest is one thing. Missing signposts, posts, and animals... is another.
The course has so much potential—we hope that after the renovation, it will shine again in its former glory. Hard is good—lost in the woods, not so much.
