Course visit ACS Brand | Bürserberg course

Course visit ACS Brand | Bürserberg course - Bogensportinfo
Manfred Hanus

The road winds its way high up the Bürserberg to the Hotel Dunza. Registration for the course is right there. We were warmly welcomed by the manager, had a lovely chat, and, of course, devoured the legendary apple strudel.

There's a friendly atmosphere up there, whether you're a hotel guest or an archer.

You can drive a few hundred meters up to the last parking lot before the "mountain"... which is a good thing. Once you get to the top, you'll search in vain for the entrance to the 3D course itself. A quick tip: turn left immediately after the grate in the ground. Then you're in the right place.

The first part goes across a meadow and through the first patch of forest. When you then cross the "path" (near the large stream), please be careful. There might be tourists milling around behind the Target (that's what happened to us ) – so skip it!

Some of the shots are truly extreme—very fine, because for us flatlanders, this is something different. The course winds its way up and down (perhaps even a little too steeply) through the wooded mountain landscape.

Lots of up and down when retrieving arrows and almost no backstops (may be a tradition in Vorarlberg).

If it weren't for the story of the really sparingly used directional arrows (many of them are simply faded and hard to find), it would be a tough but very nice course.
