An incredibly exciting day at the 2022 HDH / IAA World Championship. The first finals were scheduled for 8:00 a.m.
Some Austrians were able to maintain and even improve their rankings. The "duels" for the finals were very emotional, and so were the congratulations, of course. After all, everyone had fought together for a week. There was no sign of envy today—not at all. Everyone was happy for everyone else about their good performance. That's not always the case at tournaments like this. ;)
The awards ceremony was an experience in itself for many archers. Regardless of nationality, the competitors were delighted and the applause commensurate. It was a wonderful moment of camaraderie. World champions are always a wonderful thing, no matter their nationality!

The "Shooters Party" on the last evening was held in the courtyard of the adjacent building for a reasonable €10. If you haven't completely overeaten yet, today is the last day.
Fun conversations about future tournaments we plan to attend together by bus or even chartered plane (insider alert!), about the tournament we've just finished, and... lots of fun. That's how it should be – we're already looking forward to the next tournament together!
What could easily be improved...
There were several things that needed to be discussed. Non-Slovenian shooters, in particular, would know a thing or two about this. Unfriendliness and downright arrogance would be topics of discussion.
The same goes for the food. There was nothing on Tuesday... then a "set menu" starting Wednesday. Small items like toast, rolls, and the like were completely unavailable. Some simply got pizza from the golf club—logical, since sometimes there was nothing at all. Coffee was unavailable at least twice this week.
As is usual at a tournament of this kind, the targets are also sold at a lower price at the end. Several Austrian clubs were interested – unfortunately, they were publicly reprimanded with unequivocal language, saying they were "after the others (Slovenian competitors)" (actually insulting, but you can see it either way). ;)
There are many other "little things" to report! But... we want to keep this World Cup in good memory, so we'll just leave it at that.
