Why you should strictly adhere to the closing times on the Austrian courses.
Daylight saving time (yes, unfortunately it still exists) only exacerbates the problem a little.
In winter the days are simply shorter... a fact.
Animals live in "our" forest... also a fact.
The Austrian hunting community is responsible for preserving and caring for these populations (and there are quite a few of them, even if we don't see them often)... another fact.
We archers can truly consider ourselves fortunate. Here in Austria, we have an enormously high density of archery courses. The operators and clubs take exemplary care of them.
Leaving the course and the grounds an hour before sunset is a relatively small price to pay, and one we're happy to pay. Nobody really wants or needs conflicts between course operators, hunters, and forest owners.
Please also observe the shortened opening hours during the "dark" season!
