The unshakable trust, the boundless thirst for experience. Many of us have admired it before, but there was a time when we ourselves were no different. Children, like a blank slate, hungry for life.
We were still unconventional and authentic. It was a time before we were told what we could and couldn't do. Still unincorporated into a system that was so much more than just perfect. We lived from the "inside" to the "outside." Just like with archery, with everything else, it was an idea, an image, a feeling that gave us the drive.
To realize ourselves, to express ourselves, to experience, and not to conform to a mold we were meant to fit into. This child within us still exists today, but it remains silent and has been overshadowed by the structures of our society. But as long as we don't set out to rediscover this child, we can't expect more freedom to enter our lives. Because those who want lightness must also live lightness.
If you want more joy, you have to live joy. It's not about searching for something. Because everything is already within us and can reveal itself when we stop telling ourselves why something doesn't work. Because then our approach comes naturally. We practice so often to shoot better, even more perfectly, with more structure.
But many of us also watch as children shoot one arrow after another with ease, and hit the target. I mean, without any structure or discipline.
Could it not be that we are not always the teachers, but rather the students of our children?
