Even as a young girl, I absolutely wanted to try archery. My role model back then was Robin Hood, played by Errol Flynn, from the film "Robin Hood, Prince of the Roadkill." I would run around the forest with homemade hazel bows and had a lot of fun doing it.
Unfortunately, nothing more came of it. When I came to Vienna in 1991, I rediscovered archery, this time in the Prater. But even there, apart from a few visits to the "shooting galleries" where I was allowed to shoot for free, nothing further developed from it. I really started in 2000 with a beginner's course in traditional archery. And from that day on, there was nothing else for me. Daily training (especially as a competitive archer from 2004 onwards) and regular tournament participation determined my life until around 2013.
From 2009 onwards, I spent more and more time as a coach (3D national coach from 2009-2011) and, above all, as a coach trainer and author of specialist literature and articles, which is why the time I spent on archery increasingly decreased. Even today, I love watching my arrows fly, walking around a course with friends, discussing archery with like-minded people at the shooting line, and passing on the knowledge I've accumulated over the years. The latter was also the reason I wrote THE BIG BOOK OF ARCHERY. Here, I describe in detail a very energy-saving, easy-to-learn, easy-to-repeat, and healthy shooting technique, clearly divided into several sub-elements. In addition, there are more than 400 exercises for learning and consolidating the shooting sequence, a detailed, archery-specific training guide and competition guide, and over 400 exercises for mental fitness. Special chapters on equipment, tuning, (self-)coaching, and safety round out the book. The result is a reference work for beginners, amateur and competitive archers, as well as coaches, where everyone will find what they are looking for.
