The last course on our spring tour.
Car parked on the access road – a one-minute walk to the firing range, nothing to speak of. A truly friendly welcome at the range and a reunion with a colleague from the crossbow department. They last met at the AAA Austrian Championships in Zurndorf. And right up front… YES, you're allowed to practice with the crossbow here. Fascinating, by the way.
A short, steep climb to the first two destinations... really good. It continues like this. The course is quite challenging at times. A decent workout for flatlanders like us.
Was it the long drive home ahead of us, or were we simply having a really bad day? Regardless, it was the worst result of our tour. But it certainly wasn't the course's fault. The lady of the house put me in my place with center kills at the first two targets.
A very, very nice chat with shooters from Weiz and the surrounding area (including a few culinary tips for next time – THANK YOU) at the beautiful refreshment stop and we were “through”.
It is a special course – certainly not the last time.
