It's been almost two years since I visited the BSC Semriach 3D course. My memory: "Tough!"
Registration takes place at the Trattnerhof – then you go behind the archery hall, where ample parking is available.
The beautiful shooting range is also always a meeting place… archery gossip, weather reports, and all sorts of other “things” can be heard here from colleagues.
In any case, the course has been somewhat "softened" – not in terms of safety, as it was really top-notch in that regard last time. The route has been changed, saving you a few meters... in length and (!!!) ups and downs. At least, that's how I remember it.
About two-thirds of the way through, we came across a nice group of deer... but WAIT! We're not shooting at them – moving targets from the real animal kingdom are the last thing we want to shoot at. We stay quiet and don't scare the deer. And lo and behold... they just walk along the course for a bit. At a distance, but still halfway close to us. At some point, they've had enough and they're gone.
A nice encounter that you don't have too often.
Cool shots, a somewhat challenging terrain and also a halfway decent result.
It was a beautiful afternoon in Schöckelland, Petra & Manfred
