Regarding the history of the bow and thus also bowhunting, many cave paintings in southern France, Spain, and North Africa depict hunting scenes in which hunting takes place not only individually but also in groups (today: social hunting). Particularly because of this technical advancement in archery technology, hunting with a bow is attracting more and more people around the world. The USA is clearly the leader in this field, with nearly 12 million hunters who primarily use bows for hunting. This industry generated revenues of more than USD 55 million in 2015. In Europe, more and more countries are allowing bow hunting. As a result, more and more hunters are obtaining bow hunting licenses.
