At the Haxterpark Archery Academy, participants deepen their understanding of the fundamentals of archery and systematically develop their skills. Through theory and practice, participants learn all the essential elements of this fascinating sport step by step. Each session focuses on a specific theme: It begins with approximately 30-45 minutes of theory, followed by the practical portion.

The topics covered in each unit include:

1. History of archery
2. Bow types and bow classes
3. Safety on the premises and in the course
4. Shooting sequence – the positional phase model
5. Structure and function of the bow components (limbs, riser, rest, etc.)
6. Posture, breathing, and mental training
7. Arrow knowledge – including building your own wooden arrow
8. Shooting lesson with individual error correction

Additional date: Sport shooting in Brilon (Saturday, October 24, 2026 or October 31, 2026, optional, not included in the price)

You are welcome to bring your own equipment; alternatively, school bows and suitable equipment are available, the use of which is already included in the price.

Whether for companies or private groups, as a Christmas party, as part of a family celebration or as the sporting highlight of an excursion, a meeting, a company party: we arrange archery for a wide variety of groups of people.

Our standard event lasts approximately 2 hours and can be held outdoors or indoors with up to 14 or 9 large targets, respectively. We will, of course, accommodate special requests whenever possible.

For all events: We provide all necessary equipment.

Would you like to book a private session for your group, team, or company? The dates listed on the right are for our open introductory courses for individuals and small groups. We are happy to offer separate sessions for companies, larger groups, or individual events. Simply send us an inquiry with your preferred date to bogensport@haxterpark.de. Sessions are available both during the week and on weekends.

Prices depend on group size and duration (e.g. €20 to €29 per participant for a 2-hour session).

Archery is fun for children and a great activity for a birthday party. The course is suitable for children aged 12 to 16.

We request that at least one parent (or guardian) be present throughout the entire event.

Do you want to better understand your own bow set and shoot with improved technique? Our new equipment course offers you the opportunity to learn the most important settings and fine-tuning directly on your equipment once a month. The course will be offered for the first time in 2026 and is aimed at anyone who wants to understand and confidently use their equipment.

Have you watched the Olympic Games and would like to try an Olympic recurve bow yourself? This course is aimed at advanced archers who want to focus their training on the Olympic recurve bow. In a small group, you will receive an introduction and practical instruction to specifically improve your technique, movement patterns, and mental strategies.

Contents:

Shot preparation based on biomechanical movement patterns and mental training strategies

Technical introduction: Stabilizer, button, mechanical support, sight

Practical exercises with drill sequences and partner exercises (e.g. with Theraband or squeeze drill)

Analysis and targeted correction of one's own technique by the trainer

Finally, a game that brings together all the learned elements.
